It's the end of Week 8 alreadyyyy. Where is the time going?! In under a month, I will be getting on a plane with these crazies to live in the middle east for 3 months. I love this team so much, so I figured it was time you met them. We are still getting to know each other, but one thing I know is that each of them loves Jesus. He's made each of us wonderfully unique and I can't wait to start this adventure with them!
This is Cassie from Manitoba, Canada. She's pretty much Superwoman ;) ... she's our fearless outreach leader and we are so blessed to have her! I can't wait to serve in a country that she has such a heart and passion for. This girl is bursting with life and is filled with a contagious joy. I see the kingdom of God in her when she is caring for those around her and leading us by being her adventurous, wise and bold self.
This is my beautiful teammate Eva, from the island of Mauritius. Don't let that innocent smile fool you. She's a sassy one and I love her. She is sweet and soft spoken, but when this woman speaks about what God has done, people better pay attention. Did I mention she has an amazing singing voice, too?! I see the kingdom of God in her when she allows the Lord to speak through her, and moves forward in obedience, declaring what He's done in her life.
This is Kailee from Grand Rapids, Michigan. This art loving, introvert is a kindred spirit and so fun to be with. I admire the way she walks in her skin, comfortable being her goofy self. It's hard to make eye contact with her across a room without getting a silly look or walking by her without getting playfully poked. I see the kingdom of God in her when she is laughing and being the unique woman God created her to be.
This is Jordan from Kansas City. He loves working on cars and has a heart for the middle east. He is confident and a natural leader. I see the kingdom of God in him when he shows a genuine interest in peoples' lives and their stories.
This is Bella from Laguna Beach, California. She carries herself in confidence and beauty, even though she doesn't always know she's doing it. She is fun and adventurous and is pretty much always holding a cup of coffee. I see the kingdom of God in her when she is magnetically drawn to children and loves them so well.
This is Ezra from Korea. Ezra is the teammate we were waiting for and that the Lord knew would later be added to our team. He is reserved and sweet, but also has a fun and crazy side that we're slowly seeing released. I see the kingdom of God in him when he is being silly and giving us glimpses of his heart... and when he's running through Target riding a shopping cart like a kid in a candy shop.
... And that's our team! The closer we get to leaving on outreach, the more excited we're getting. And the more we see God preparing our hearts for how he's going to use us. The funny thing about our team is that we're almost all introverts and enjoy just being together, even if we're not talking. We love eating and I have a feeling we'll spend a lot of time laughing together and I can't wait! Please continue praying for us as we leave on December 16th! So soon!!
"Thrive" by Casting Crowns
Here in this worn and weary land
Where many a dream has died
Like a tree planted by the water
We never will run dry
So living water flowing through
God we thirst for more of You
Fill our hearts and flood our souls
With one desire
Just to know You and
To make You known
We lift Your name on High
Shine like the sun make darkness run and hide
We know we were made for so much more
Than ordinary lives
It's time for us to more than just survive
We were made to thrive
Into Your word we're digging deep
To know our Father's heart
Into the world we're reaching out
To show them who You are
Joy Unspeakable, Faith Unsinkable, Love Unstoppable, Anything is possible
Just to know You and
To make You known
We lift Your name on High
Shine like the sun make darkness run and hide
We know we were made for so much more
Than ordinary lives
It's time for us to more than just survive
We were made to thrive
