Just two short days and I’ll be stepping on a plane to head to the Middle East for 3 months. We’re only halfway through our DTS, but it still feels like the end of a season. I can’t believe how much the Lord has done in me in such a short amount of time. When I signed up for DTS multiple people told me I had made the best decision of my life and I halfway doubted it would be able to change me THAT much. But three months later, I can testify that any time you make the conscious decision to fully surrender to whatever the Lord wants to do is the best decision you can make. I stand here a changed person and I don’t regret it one bit.
One thing our school has seen as a theme is: THANKFULNESS.
Being thankful can change any heart, any situation. Having a heart full of thanksgiving and praise is the key to freedom and joy. I’ve never experienced so much freedom in my worship and it’s all because of the freedom and joy that comes from knowing Jesus.
As our teams pack up and head into the nations, I can’t help but thank Jesus for each of them. They are going to change the world! And not just to change it, but to bring Jesus with joy! I wish I could introduce you all to each one of my classmates and staff members, because God has so specifically marked each person with gifts and passions that will be used for his glory.
As for me, I wait expectantly to see God move and break down walls. It’s his name I want to make known and I can’t wait to see how he does it. How amazing that we serve a God who would include us in his plans to bring the kingdom here on earth? God has already started stirring my heart for the country and people we will be meeting. Will you partner with me in prayer as we leave? Here are a few prayer requests as we leave:
*Safe travels and that we would catch all of our connecting flights (I’ll wave to you all from San Francisco!)
*Unity and peace in our team
*God would give us an instant love for the country and the people
*Servants’ hearts to be available and willing to serve in any way
*Joyful surrender and flexibility
*That God would continue to transform and shape my heart to be like His
*Boldness to pray for people, preach the gospel and speak life into people
Please feel free and encouraged to email me whenever you feel inclined ([email protected]). Also if you contact me through this blog, I will receive an email… I will be checking email once a week, but won’t be able to blog while I’m gone. I love love love you all and am so thankful for the way you’ve supported me through this process. I have had this amazing experience because of you and your prayers, so thank you!
Hugs,
Tamara
